Here we go again...
Didn't they (bleep)ing learn from the Kelo fiasco? BTW, in that case, the seized land is still an empty lot, and now Pfizer is closing up shop and moving their factory. I say how about those justices on the NY court have *THEIR* property seized? New York's highest court ruled Tuesday that it's lawful for a state economic development agency to seize private land to build an arena for a professional basketball team. The 6-1 ruling by the New York State Court of Appeals allows the contentious $4.9 billion, 22-acre Atlantic Yards project in Brooklyn, N.Y., to proceed. The proposed development includes office towers, apartments and a new arena for the NBA's New Jersey Nets. It's a victory for developers and government entities in New York that have sought to boost local economies with new development. But it is a blow to private-property owners who have argued that they are defenseless in protecting their ownership rights if a government deems their land necessary for eminent domain, or the "public good." The court's decision echoes a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in 2005, when the court found it was constitutional for a New London, Conn., economic-development corporation to seize private homes and businesses to build a research campus for Pfizer Inc. That decision, Kelo vs. New London, Conn., set off a firestorm of protest, prompting state lawmakers to amend laws to prevent local governments in those states from seizing private land in some cases...... http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125907445356162357.html?mod=igoogle_wsj_gadgv1& | | Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 | | 7:20 pm |
The power of wishful thinking...
A few days ago, I read (from several news sources,) about a guy in a coma for decades who had suddenly started communicating. I had an inkling of a doubt, and I wrote to the Skeptic's Dictionary. Turns out I was far from the only one with doubts. Well, my dobts were correct, the guy was "communicating" via the discredited technique of "facilitated communication." Every time facilitated communication is properly tested, scientifically, if fails. Completely. http://www.skepdic.com/facilcom.html#newsThe FC proponents refuse to accept the scientific tests, which are pretty simple, they attack the test, the testers, everyone and everything except saying "Oops." Why? Two main reasons: Desperate blind belief Research money I do feel for the poor guy, he just may be able to see and hear what is going on, but can't do anything. But his "communications" is a fraud. | | Thursday, September 17th, 2009 | | 12:26 am |

Stay classy, conservatives.
The conservatives have a new obsession, in addition to Obama's birth certificate: hoosiermama: The only other thing that hit me was that Sinclair said BO was not circumcised. When my son was born in a hospital that was done as a matter of routine without even consulting us. Would the same be for Hawaii? OTOH People born at home or in some other cultures are not circumcised. thecodont: A relative of mine was born (in a hospital) a couple of years after BO's alleged birth date. He was circumcised also (as a matter of routine, not according to any family request). afraidfortherepublic: My son was born in June of 1961 in a hospital in CA, and the nurses released us because of miscommunication in a day and a half before the circumcision was done. We had to go back to the doctor’s office to have it done a week later, and the doctor was NOT HAPPY. My second son was born in the same hospital 4 years later. I don’t remember them asking me about it. Routine procedure for little boys. hoosiermama: Wish we had someone to make a phone call to the hospitols in HI and ask if they routinely do circumcism and when that practice started. MHGinTN: You might want to make that call to a Canadian hospital ... MHGinTN: No...it would have been in Kenya....not Canada. Natural Born 54 I am having a vision of a court room scene. The judge turns to O sitting in the witness chair to his left and says “I am sorry, Mr. President, but I am going to have to ask you to stand and drop trou .....” http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2306351/posts?q=1&;page=9645#9645(WTF?) | | Thursday, May 21st, 2009 | | 11:40 pm |
The "Bush can do no wrong" sadistic bastards.
On a message board, there is a group of "conservatives," who have the view "The Bush administration can do no wrong!" Even though EVERYTHING Bush, Cheney and their cronies touched they screwed up. Everything. Now, they are making the most asinine excuses for torture, even though it does NOT work. It only gives what the torturers want to hear. Jesse Ventura as part of his SERE training was waterboarded, and he says flat out it is torture. Current Mood: pissed off | | Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 | | 6:04 am |
Honor and Dignity my ass!
Remember back in 2000, when Bush promised bringing honor and dignity back to the White House? That was a total LIE on his part. Here's the latest one of his goons being taken to task. Source: L A Times Reporting from Washington -- To Bradley Schlozman, they were "mold spores," "commies" and "crazy libs." He was referring to the career lawyers in the Justice Department's civil rights and voting rights divisions. From 2003 to 2006, Schlozman was a Bush appointee who supervised them. Along with several others, he came to symbolize the mid-level political appointees who brought a hard-edged ideology to the day-to-day workings of the Justice Department. My tentative plans are to gerrymander all of those crazy libs right out of the section," he said in an e-mail in 2003. "I too get to work with mold spores, but here in Civil Rights, we call them Voting Section attorneys," he confided to another friend. He hoped to get rid of the "Democrats" and "liberals" because they were "disloyal" and replace them with "real Americans" and "right-thinking Americans." He appears to have succeeded by his standards, according to an inspector general's report released Tuesday. Among the newly hired lawyers whose political or ideological views could be discerned, 63 of 65 lawyers hired under Schlozman had Republican or conservative credentials, the report said. http://tinyurl.com/8e36jmFace it, Bush and his goons politicized or totally fucked up EVERYTHING they got their hands on. | | Friday, January 2nd, 2009 | | 11:35 pm |

I decided to try an experiment. I watched a movie, that was (their time) 2 hours and 30 minutes. I timed how many ads they had. 38 fucking minutes of ads!!! :grr: I wrote an e-mail to AMC complaining. I get a stock e-mail answer. :argh: No more fucking AMC for me. 38 fucking minutes of ads is simply pure GREED on their part. Current Mood: pissed off | | Monday, October 6th, 2008 | | 8:17 pm |
Stick a fork in McCain and Palin. They're done.
This shows the McCain's true strategy in the next few weeks. Lies, hysterical fear, and smears. McCain Camp Open About Character Assault Dirt Flies As Obama Opens Wider Poll Lead Republicans seeking to change the national conversation about the presidential race have embarked on a concerted effort to tarnish Sen. Barack Obama's character and credibility as national and battleground state polls show him opening a lead on GOP opponent Sen. John McCain. "It's a dangerous road, but we have no choice," a top McCain strategist told the New York Daily News. "If we keep talking about the economic crisis, we're going to lose." (snip) Regardless, Palin said of Obama on Saturday that "this is not a man who sees America like you and I see America." (snip) Obama fired back at McCain on Sunday saying, "McCain's campaign has announced that they plan to turn the page on the discussion about our economy and spend the final weeks of this campaign launching Swiftboat-style attacks on me." http://www.wisn.com/politics/17633716/detail.html | | Wednesday, August 27th, 2008 | | 12:17 am |
Michael Savage is a racist PIG.
From the August 25 broadcast of Talk Radio Network's The Savage Nation: SAVAGE: The Democrat [sic] Party is the minority party. There is no question about it. Obama is a minority, a half minority at least. The membership is made up largely of minority blocs, the Hispanic caucus and the gay caucus -- caucuses that are all against the white person. So, the Democrat Party is the minority party, and it is trying to pose as a centrist party, trying to win over the white male voter. And make no mistake about it, the white male controls this election, primarily because white people still make up about 65, 66 percent of the population, and they're all going after the white voter. Now, the white women generally are not as hard-nosed about things as the white male, and so many white women don't even understand that they're being duped, and they vote for a Democrat, not knowing that they're digging their own grave. But now they're going after the working-class white male, who is traditionally leery of the Sister Helen Prejeans, the gay lobby, the caucuses and the other lobbies that are trying to take away his child's birthright. Yes, he is aware of the fact that the Democrat Party wants to continue these programs, which say to him, "If you have a daughter who excels in school, as a white man, and your daughter, even though you're a working-class guy, gets straight A's in high school, she will not get into the best colleges. She will go to a second-tier college, and those positions will be reserved for minorities because of affirmative action." The white male knows this, and he's not willing to sacrifice his child's future for the sake of political correctness to the extent that the white woman might be willing to do so. (End of Savage's rant) Why the hell is this racist pig still even on the air? Easy answer: He makes money for those who carry his radio show. Remember Hal Lindsey?
Hal Lindsey, is the fundy jerk who wrote a book, "The Late Great Planet Earth." In that book, he said that the Soviet Union would start WW 3, and pave the way for the "antichrist." Naturally, Lindsey was dead wrong. Period. Most of these "edtimes doom prophets" faded back into the woodwork. But not Hal Lindsey. He's a writer at WingNutDaily...I mean WorldNetDaily, the nuttiest far-right web site that claims to be a "news site." Here's Hal Lindsey's latest moronic screed: America has never faced so many different crises at the same time in living memory. The war with al-Qaida and Islamic terror, the Iran crisis, Afghanistan, nuclear proliferation, the rising price of oil, the falling dollar, enemy acronyms like OPEC, NAM, OIC, U.N. ... Obama is correct in saying that the world is ready for someone like him – a messiah-like figure, charismatic and glib and seemingly holding all the answers to all the world's questions. And the Bible says that such a leader will soon make his appearance on the scene. It won't be Barack Obama, but Obama's world tour provided a foretaste of the reception he can expect to receive. He will probably also stand in some European capital, addressing the people of the world and telling them that he is the one that they have been waiting for. And he can expect as wildly enthusiastic a greeting as Obama got in Berlin. The Bible calls that leader the Antichrist. And it seems apparent that the world is now ready to make his acquaintance. http://conwebwatch.tripod.com/blog/index.blog?entry_id=1831053I'd say Hal Lindsey has been hit much too ofen with a big family Bible. Or else, he's simply a "prophet for profit." | | Monday, July 28th, 2008 | | 12:42 pm |
Why am I not surprised?
KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (CNN) -- The suspect in a fatal shooting at a Knoxville church Sunday was motivated by frustration over being unable to obtain a job and hatred for the liberal movement, police said Monday. Jim Adkisson, 58, was charged with first-degree murder after Sunday's shooting at the Knoxville church. 1 of 3 Authorities recovered a four-page letter in which the suspect, Jim Adkisson, described his feelings and motives, police said. Adkisson, 58, of Powell, Tennessee, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the shootings at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church. The gunman killed two adults and wounded seven others before being overpowered by congregants, authorities said. The case is being investigated as a hate crime, police said. Watch police chief describe latest findings » "It appears that what brought him to this horrible event was his lack of being able to obtain a job, his frustration over that, and his stated hatred for the liberal movement," Knoxville Police Chief Sterling Owen IV told reporters on Monday. Authorities also discovered a letter from the state government telling Adkisson he was having his food stamps reduced or eliminated, police said. "He did express that frustration, that the liberal movement was getting more jobs," Owen said. "And he felt like he was being kept out of the loop because of his age." Adkisson's resume indicates he had worked in mechanical engineering, police said. Owen said Adkisson apparently acted alone and chose the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church because of recent publicity about activities there that Adkisson considered liberal. http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/07/28/church.shooting/index.html?eref=ib_topstories | | Saturday, July 5th, 2008 | | 7:09 pm |
Want to see an American fascist?
Just read the LJ entries here: http://rhjunior.livejournal.com/This guy is so stupid, he ran an e-mail rumor about Obama that is almost entirely false, and when confronted with the fact the e-mail is false, he slams the sources showing evidence (REAL evidence,) that it is false. He claims to be a Christian. HAR! A true Christian would not spread lies, or have such total hatred of "the enemy." (Who in this case is "dem homer-sexers." | | Sunday, May 25th, 2008 | | 11:26 pm |

Gitmo and the law
A couple years ago, I compared the earliest Nazi death camps, in Germany during the 1930's, to Gitmo. This one jerk lied about what I said, saying I compared Gitmo to Auschwitz. He knew it was a lie, yet he published it anyway in that so-called "newspaper" he owns. So now we hear that a manual for the camp guards at Gitmo told them to refuse to let the Red Cross into Gitmo. Just like back in the 1930's, how the Nazis refused to let the Red Cross into their concentration camps. This is *NOT* "Godwin's Law." This shows the utter contempt for the law, both in the US and international law, that Bush, Cheney and the rest of their goons have. http://tinyurl.com/2scxvghttp://tinyurl.com/3byv29 |
